Shiv Sagar has been known for its South Indian delicacies and its hospitality, flourished across Bangalore. Designing the interiors for their new outlet at Orion East mall has been an amazing journey for us at ACME.
When you make your way to the restaurant, you are greeted by the semi open barrier made of planter boxes arranged on steel framework. This helps you see the atmosphere in the restaurant, that pulls you in.
The space allocated to the restaurant was surrounded by glass walls, which allowed natural sunlight into the space. This encouraged us in designing a more open plan, with very minimal physical barriers. The main color scheme adopted were browns, greys, whites with splashes of blue and green. This gave a very warm and woody feel to the place. This was also seen in the furniture, where the chairs are dark wood with bright colors.
The huge existing columns of the mall were connected by placing a planter box “wall” which created a perforated divider, creating different spaces that also encouraged different ways of arranging the furniture.
Overall, the planter boxes in different corners of the space and the natural lighng from the glass walls, bring out the bright colors used in the design, making the space very pleasing and welcoming.
